Many people think they are too old to make major life changes and think they are trapped about being who they are because that is who they have been. Truth is, you can change your self-image regardless of your age, and your happiness depends on it. That is a choice you have to make and I know this because I spent half of my life being intensely shy. I may not show it because I’m good at keeping my emotions but my family and friends would always see me as someone very shy and quiet.
Later, I found out that the label “shy” was a label someone else put on me because I allow it. I often told myself that knowing how to express myself in writing is more than enough for me so I didn’t care about meeting so many people that I actually believed I was anti-social. When I came to realized that I actually had a choice to be in control of my behavior, I decided that I want to stop being shy and I was able to replace it with a new desirable behavior. I started introducing myself to people I don’t know and because I’m a wide reader I can start a conversation or join a group discussion about any topic and actually enjoyed it. That change in behavior and attitude made me very confident and at ease with myself.
All my life I had this inner dialogue that I am shy, and I carried this inside my head that I actually believed it to be true maybe because this has been embedded in my subconscious. When I learned about the Law of Attraction and how to reshape my conscious and subconscious mind, I was eventually able to create an inner dialogue that I am friendly and I like to be with people until it consumed and overpowered my conscious and subconscious with all the attitudes and behaviors in relation to being friendly that I actually believed I am.
If I had done that in my late forties so can you and all you have to do is tell yourself that you can do it then be amazed at the changes it will bring into your life.
